A Note from CCBC’s Director, Emma Hatton.

CCBC is a non-denominational preschool located in Northwest DC, serving up to 135 children ages 15 months to 5 years old. Our educational practice is guided by the belief that children learn best through meaningful, child-centered play. We are dedicated to creating an engaging and responsive program that puts fostering child’s curiosity, independence, and joy at the forefront of our work. Our daily routine ensures time for children to engage with thoughtfully chosen materials and learning experiences, develop peer relationships, and strengthen motor skills through daily outdoor play. The nurturing relationships that our educators build with children and their families are the foundation on which our caring community is built. The supportive environment of CCBC acknowledges and celebrates the many moments of childhood, stringing together joyful experiences that help grow lifelong learners.

CCBC has served the community for over 50 years, and we continue to carry a respect for and connection to the children and families we welcome every day. Our children see school as a welcoming and safe place where they belong.
