History

CCBC was initially formed in 1971 by the Chevy Chase Baptist Church as a mother’s morning out program. The program continued to grow and become an important part of the community, welcoming families from the neighborhood and beyond. The program expanded to nine classrooms over three floors, enrolling children 15 months to 5 years. In 2008, CCBC officially separated from the church to become Chevy Chase Bethesda Community Children’s Center, a non-denominational preschool housed in the church facilities. CCBC is now governed by a parent board of directors who partner with school administration to set school policies and oversee financial management. CCBC is committed to equitable admission practices and accepts children regardless of race, color, or national origin.

CCBC is governed by a Board of Directors composed of parents, the school director, administrator, and a teacher representative.
